SUV Cargo Space In Honda CR-V vs. Nissan Rogue

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Wondering about how you can choose between a Honda CR-V and a Nissan Rogue? Lets cover some things that will hopefully give you a better feel for these midsized SUV’s.

Cargo Space

Perhaps the most important aspect in considering the right SUV is how much room it offers. After all, the larger the vehicle the less efficient they become. However, some people will have different interests or needs to be met, so take that into consideration.

The Honda CR-V has 35.7 cu. in. of cargo space while the Nissan Rogue has 28.9.

Headroom and Legroom

The difference between them is marginal when it comes to rear seat headroom and legroom, but every little bit counts.

Honda’s headroom is 40.9 and Nissan is 40.4,

Overall Volume – Maximum

The total makes Honda the winner in terms of overall cargo volume, at 72.9 vs. Nissan’s 57.9. When you look at those numbers the advantage in terms of cargo space clearly favors Honda.

Beyond the numbers though, how they serve your needs is important. Also, look at how each model approaches interior and exterior design, integrating compartments for storage, and other ways to creatively increase capacity and usage applications.

Interior Components and Use

Honda models and Nissan models will differ in terms of the configuration of their interior. The details around the controls, the navigation systems, the audio and other options that are available will be slightly different between both vehicles. The Honda interior has a much more modern and visual looking dash than Nissan’s.

Seating is also important. Look at how the seats are constructed, too thin or too thick can result in an uncomfortable experience. If you’re driving for any extended length of time you’ll want to choose one that will be the most suitable. Test the lumbar, and adjust all the positions to see if your preference and angle of driving can be accommodated.
